It’s been a while since Shahrukh Khan, the Badshah of Bollywood made a sizeable impact on the film industry. He will next be seen in Anubhav Sinha’s superhero action thriller, Ra.One. Scheduled for release in June 2011, Shahrukh Khan fans are eagerly waiting for the release of Ra.One. Even though this is Shahrukh’s dream project partly because his kids have always wanted to see him as a superhero, we are a little apprehensive about the success of the movie. Anubhav Sinha’s record does not speak too highly of him. His earlier films are Chase (2010), Sankat City (2009), Cash (2007), Tathastu (2006) and Dus (2005) – none of them made any kind of impact on the industry, critical or commercial.
About Ra.One – In the News
Not much is known about Ra.One at the moment. According to Shahrukh, it stands for ‘Random Access level 1.0′. Along with him, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal are also starring in this Hindi science fiction film. However, Khan is ensuring that he leaves no stone unturned for promoting the movie. The satellite rights of the movie have already been sold to Star Plus for a whopping 40 crore rupees, beating the record of 3 Idiots’ 33 crore acquisition by Sony Entertainment.
There are reports that he has been trying to bring in Lady Gaga for a music video in Ra.One after successfully roping in Akon. In fact, the sly Khan had asked Akon to persuade Lady Gaga because of their close friendship.
And guess who has been signed up to compose the background score of Ra.One? None other than Hans Zimmer. He is well-known for his composition in movies such as The Gladiator, The Lion King, The Dark Night, and almost 100 other Hollywood movies. Not only for the music, but Shahrukh has brought in some of Hollywood’s biggest names to work on the special effects of the movie so that the final experience is nothing short of perfect.
