Honestly, I didn’t expect too much from this movie until the promos made their appearance on TV and in theater halls. But after watching this trailer, my interest is genuinely piqued. The Deols are back, it seems, and that too with a bang. After the watershed event called Apne, not much is expected out of a movie which stars two heroes who’ve had their day (read Dharmendra and Sunny) and another one who never arrived (Bobby) as the leading dramatis personae. For all intents and purposes it seemed that they were just having another shot at a family production which would soothe their egos and help their dwindling careers. Well, the final product remains to be seen, but the trailer seems darn interesting.
First of all, after a long time Dharam paaji seems to have been given adequate screen space and it looks like he’s used it well. Secondly, the usual masala is all in place and the clichés have been mocked at in an amusing manner. The trailer is funny and elaborate without revealing the story. The actress paired opposite Bobby is cute-looking (Kulraj Randhawa – last saw her several years back in a comic role in a TV series called (Kareena Kareena). The music of Yamla Pagla Deewana has already been released and the quintessential item number is present and well publicised (Ishq ka manjan) and Dharmendra’s trademark song and dance with the number “Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana”, gets your feet tapping even if you are not a big fan of the Deols. I won’t bet my money on this one, but we shall definitely keep our eyes and ears open for these crazy Sikhs ( actually only one of them is a real “Sikh”)
