When will new hindi films be released?

It’s been quite a while now since we saw any new good movies. The last two movies that were released were the Akshay Kumar starrer – Tasveer 8×10 and the Neil Nitin Mukesh starrer Aa Dekhen Zara. As no new movies had been released, it spelt good news for these two films – audiences went trickling down to the multiplexes as they had no other movie to watch.

So when will new hindi films and movies be released now? As of now, industry insiders are speculating that the coming summer months will be dry and one can expect to watch just regional movies, some plays and rare presentations if any at all at the common multiplexes. The tussle between the producers and distributers is not a joke – but a serious plea of the producers for an equal share of the profits.

Here is a short clipping of the Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan endorsed press meet with the distributors.

“It is our responsibility to explain our problems and issues to our audiences. We, as entertainers, feel sorry for not being able to show new films for sometime and we are here to explain our side of the argument,” said
Aamir Khan
.

Pitching for an equal share for producers, Aamir said, “There is a need to re-look at revenue sharing model. The gross and net profits made by the films have increased over the years but the share of producers and distributors remains the same.”
