Director Sudhir Mishra roped in Pankaj Awasthi and Ali Azmat to compose the music for the album and the two of them have come up with some different music which is their trademark. Here is an insight into the music of Tera Kya Hoga Johnny.
The title song is sung very well by Sukhwinder Singh though its full effect can be felt only when you see the video alongside. The next song ‘Teri Parchhaiyaan’ has shades of rock music in it though it has been sung by Ali Azmat in a not so rock-ish way.
Then comes ‘Shab ko roz jaga deta hai’ that is sung and composed by Pankaj Awasthi in his very eccentric voice. It’s a Ghazal, but is sung in a completely different style and so you may like the song if you pay more attention to the deep lyrics than the music. His composition ‘Heeriye’, is a kind of a Punjabi dance song sung by LabhJanjua, and is quite likeable.
Next comes ‘Tore Naina’ which has been written and composed by Ali Azmat. The song is simple yet striking owing to the unique tone to his voice and you’ll love this song. Pankaj’s next track ‘Lehron ne kaha’ has got a Western feel to it though the song is poetry based with Indianinstruments making up the background music.
Shreya Ghoshal’s ‘Sheherki Rani’ has decent music but has been sung really well by the talented lady. It is the type of song that you grow to like if you listen to it a few times. So overall, if you tend to like songs more for their lyrics than the music, then ‘Tera Kya Hoga Johny’ is the album for you otherwise it might prove to be an average musical experience.
