Dabangg Music Review – Download Munni Badnaam and Tere Mast Mast!

Dabangg has some excellent tracks on its music album. From soft romantic numbers to hot and raunchy item numbers, we get to listen to a wide variety of music.

Dabangg Music Review

The music has been composed by the talented duo, Sajid and Wajid who are quite proud of their feat. According to an interview, “We got hooked on to the project in no time. I remember it was just 15 minutes into our meeting with Arbaaz and Abhinav and we were bowled over by the film. We knew what Dabangg really meant and so it was easy for us to get into composing the tracks. In fact, on the first day itself, we composed the title track Hud Hud Dabangg and both of them loved it,” says Sajid.

Further, he adds, “The film is about a person who likes to lead from the front and Salman Khan was playing the lead. So, naturally, the music had to do justice to both these aspects. Dabangg’s music has an attitude and while composing it, we had a feeling that it would work. But we had no clue that it would be such a roaring hit.” Wajid furthers, “We stand for variety and we have constantly experimented and dished out tracks that have no similarity. When you hear Dabangg’s music, you can’t make out that we have given the music.”

This is quite true. I for one wasn’t even aware who composed the tracks because they did not have any sort of artistic signatures.

Tere Mast Mast Do Nai is the opening track of Dabangg. A Bollywood romantic number dipped in sufi flavour, it has been beautifully sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. And Shreya Ghosal. This makes for a lethal combo and a marvellous rendering. Tere Mast Mast is currently the number one song on radio stations across the country.

Munni Badnam Hui follows after this and this is the song which puts loads of life into Dabangg. With a  bucolic disposition, the masala number is sung with Malaika Arora’s thumkas, so expect the screen to sizzle and burn. Credit for the unconventional lyrics goes to lyricist Jalees Sherwani.

The album soon goes into a mushy temper with Chori Kiya Re Jiya. Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal team up again to give us a love ballad. Sadly it is just an average number.

comes after this is Dabangg’s title song, Hud Hud Dabangg. A gritty and heroic song, Sukhwinder has done complete justice to the song which makes it one of the must-hear songs in the whole album.

Hamka Peeni Hai, is another song that promises sharab, shabab and music. The folk based song crooned by Wajid with Master Salim is full on masti.

The most entertaining of the lot seems to be the Dabangg theme, which is extensively used in the promos. The instrumental song has some of Salman’s dhasu dialogues from the film too. Just like a fireball, the theme song ignites passion in you.

So tune in to Dabangg’s music. It is definitely going to entertain you.
