Aparna Sen’s Hindi directorial debut venture, Gulel is reportedly back in the pipeline after being stuck for a long time. Playing the lead roles are Ranbir Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar. Ajay Devgan and Saif Ali Khan were supposed to play these roles but we guess the youth appeal of Farhan and Ranbir stole the roles from the accomplished actors.
The story of Gulel itself is juicy – about a Bihari assasin played by Ranbir Kapoor and his primary parsi target, Farhan Akhtar. Farhan Akhtar was convinced by his mom Shabana Azmi to play this role while Konkona Sen roped in Ranbir.
The current buzz around Gulel is that the project is being revamped with cast and crew undergoing several changes. Some say that Bipasha Basu is also being considered as a lead actor while Urmila Matondkar and Kareena Kapoor will be signed for smaller roles.
