After Aamir, it’s Imran

Submitted by megha on Sunday, 21 February 2010No Comment

When Imran Khan was launched in his debut film ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na,’ he reminded us of Aamir from ‘Qayamat Se Qayamt Tak.’ It won’t be wrong to state that all these one and a half years in the film industry, Imran is being compared with his Uncle, Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan. Just like Aamir, he was also launched as a chocolate boy, whose cute face is more noticed as compared to the muscular arms.

Continuing the legacy, he has now become the new brand ambassador of Coke, replacing no one but Aamir Khan. Aamir has been promoting this leading cold drink for last ten years. We remember synonymizing the words like ‘refreshing’ and ‘happiness’ with Coke all these years.

A brain child of McCann Erickson, the new ad is due for its launch in the last week of February has been directed by Dibakar Banerjee. We know him as the award winning director of the films ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ and ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla.’

Imarn says, “I have grown up seeing Coke ads featuring Aamir. This new ad film shows how Coca Cola can break the ice between two people who have just met. I share the screen with Dev D’s Kalki Koechlin. We have used an imaginary bottle in a dramatic way in this ad. I hope people would like it like all other Coke ads.”

It is worth mentioning here that Coke is the only brand that Imran has signed after becoming a star.
